“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let GOD transform you into a new person by changing the way that you think.” (Romans 12:2, NLT)
I thought I was on the right track. I had achieved so much! Everything looked like it was falling in order….that is until I spoke to an expert who knew how to analyze my project.
This expert told me that, after looking at my project from multiple angles, I had made some change that would prevent the project from being smoothly viewed by everyone that I would want to show it to. WHAT!?!?!? You mean almost two months of work has to go back to square one? “Yes, that’s what that means.”
As I vented to Stedman (no that’s not his real name lol) I realized that he had slowly become an expert too. Well as much as humanly possible in six years. Around the same week that I spoke to my project expert, Stedman had the courage to call me out on my productivity flaws. He shined a light on things than had convinced myself weren’t a big deal over the course of years!!!! And he even took it a step further to ask “So, what are you going to do about it? Because the reality is that you probably won’t reach your dreams with these productivity issues.”
Now in the past I’ve had no problem with leaving dishes in the sink or not putting g away folded clothes but the prospect of not achieving my life goals!?!?!? That’s not an option. I had never realized that the same thing within me that causes me not to put away my folded laundry causes me to procrastinate on projects.
OMG I really feel a page turning now.
So, I’m trying out Stedman’s practical suggestion and so far so good. I’ll share it with you in my tutorial section once I’ve worked done it for a while.
