This is the universal equation for life. Not a good life or a bad life. Just life. The truth is that life itself is positive, influential, and abundant. Yes, something can be both abundant☆ and finite. (Planet Earth anyone?) Life is positive because it can bring forth more life. It’s influential because as we interact with each other we reinforce and challenge each other in everything we do. Life is abundant because each breath we take is a chance to do whatever our heart desires.
Many people try to outline different ways to achieve a particular life goal. You don’t need all those lists and how-to books. All you need is your faith in a power greater than yourself (God, Allah, Buddha, Science, etc.) and the drive to put in serious work. At the end of the day, faith and work are the only things that matter. To have the life you want to have, that’s all you need. Faith and work. Nothing more and nothing less.
Unlike a normal algebra equation, you can’t “solve” for faith or work to figure out exactly how much of either thing you’ll need. In fact, the amount of faith and work you’ll need will change many times over the course of your life. Sometimes you’ll only need faith the size of a mustard seed* but that will likely happen at the same time that you’ll be working in overdrive. And of course the opposite is true. Sometimes you may need what you consider to be a very large amount of faith but may not have to do anything significant to accomplish a big goal.
So, please get rid of all the specific how-to books and articles that are cluttering your life. And start exploring your faith, your work. Once your mind understands that you need to leverage both faith and hard work, then you can focus on the variables that are specific to your life goals. Instead of reading books and articles that make it seem like the answers to the questions that millions of people have are held in one book.
Aren’t you glad that you really only need to worry about two main variables?!?!?!?
After you explore your faith and your work you can slowly dive into the details of your desires to figure out the what, where, why, and how that are specific to you. To do that only requires that you think about what you want and discuss with other how they got what they want. And that’s what Faith Work Life is here to help you do. In the middle of doing this you will gain clarity, confidence and ultimately create the life you want.
☆According to Merriam Webster, abundant means existing or occurring in large amounts. Your physical life consists of all the breaths you take over your lifetime. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says that the average person takes between 17,280 and 23,040 breaths EVERY DAY. That’s an average 20,160 breaths. So if you’re a year old you’ve taken over 7.3 Million breaths. If you’re 18 years old you’ve already take over 132 Million breaths. If you’re 30 that’s over 220 Million breaths. You get the drift. So yeah, life itself is pretty damn abundant.
