God’s glory & Your shine: Enough to go around

FWL--Purple Night Taj Mahal-min

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” ~Matthew 5:13-16 King James Version

OMG, I can’t believe how much more I get from each passage I read when I read it multiple times. All this month I was thinking that only GOD would get the glory from letting my shine. Now, that’s completely true. But what I missed is the middle part of the last sentence: “…that they may see your good works…”  For whatever reason, it’s just now becoming clear that in letting my light shine for the glory of GOD the world will see the wonderful work that I have created.

I can’t explain how excited I am now that I truly understand this passage. Not just because I will be given an opportunity to show my work to the world while GOD gets the glory. But I’m excited that I now understand that who I am and what I do is the salt of the earth. A very important ingredient in many (if not all) things. And I’m being instructed by my ultimate power source, to showcase who I am and what I do.  And the reward for following such instructions is clearly stated. Sometimes we have to step out on faith without knowing what the reward will be, but here GOD has clearly told us that mankind will see our good works.

I don’t know about you, but I’m all for following GOD’s word especially when my heart, mind and spirit understand what is required and what the reward will be.

SO, how will you let your light shine?

Don’t miss out on the wonderful things
